PenDragon brings together two sides of creativity under one name: PenDragon Arts and PenDragon Games. Founded by designer and creator Megan Gaines Hall, PenDragon is where design, storytelling, and strategy come together.

PenDragon Games is the publishing branch of PenDragon, focused on developing and releasing our own original titles. Our debut project is Rise of Reign—a mythical strategy board game where players battle to unite kingdoms and claim the empire.

From the board and cards to the artwork, components, and rulebook, every part of Rise of Reign has been designed in-house. It represents what PenDragon Games is all about: building complete, immersive worlds from the ground up.

Meet the Artist

Megan Gaines Hall is the founder and creative force behind PenDragon. With a background in both design and game development, she helps creators and businesses tell their stories through visuals and interactive experiences.

​

Megan holds an Applied Science degree in Visual Communications and a BFA in Fine Arts, combining technical expertise with artistic vision.

​

She is also the creator of Rise of Reign, a strategy board game designed from the ground up—including the board, cards, branding, creatures, and components. Rise of Reign is a showcase of PenDragon’s ability to craft complete, immersive worlds from concept to final product.

Why PenDragon?

 

The name PenDragon was inspired by the enduring legends of Uther Pendragon, Merlin, and the timeless stories of magic, strength, and lore that have captured imaginations for centuries. Whether history or myth, these tales have stood the test of time—and that lasting impact is what we strive for in both our games and our design work.

 

From a young age, Megan was drawn to dragons, legends, and the power of storytelling. That same passion lives at the heart of PenDragon today. Every logo, game, and creative project is built with the goal of leaving behind something just as memorable and lasting.
